American designer and artist Mauricio Arias became known and respected for his design work during the 1980s as creative director and co-founder pf Arias + Sarraille, and subsequently of Arias Associates in Palo Alto, California.
Mauricio shows the true range of his talent in his highly individual and soulful art work. His experienced hand can be found in his abstracts, with a textual feel and sophisticated sense of color. His work encompasses all the aspects pf life in its multi-layered complexity. captured with a high sense of simplicity and elegance.
Mauricio studied print-making at the renowned Il Bisonte Scuola Internazionale di Grafica d'Arte in Florence, Italy. He subsequently developed several mixed-media techniques, using pastels, gouache, charcoal, watercolors, textiles, lime paint and acrylic on Belgian linen canvas and hand-pressed cotton-rag archival paper. This gives his canvases a textural feel unique to his work.
